DESCRIPTION:Urban Stitch Studio | First Thursday Artswalk\, April 2nd\nThis
  First Thursday\, Urban Stitch Studio is taking over downtown Muncie\, act
 ivating alleys\, façades\, and open lots across four cardinal zones to sh
 owcase art\, design\, and community creativity from Ball State students an
 d local Muncie artists alike.\n\nThe South Group&nbsp\;is transforming the
  alleyway near DeFur Voran into an outdoor gallery\, featuring a curated m
 ix of student and local artwork alongside updated renderings of their alle
 yway intervention designs\, including an elevated platform and perforated 
 metal panel installations envisioned to make the alley a vibrant\, connect
 ive urban space.\n\nThe North Group&nbsp\;is previewing an exciting façad
 e concept for the south side of Washington Square\, a painted mural paired
  with a lightweight steel grid and layered circular discs designed to crea
 te a shifting pointillist effect as light and seasons change. Climbing ros
 es will eventually weave through the structure\, adding a living layer to 
 the work. A full-scale mockup will be on display\, and the team is eager t
 o gather feedback from the community on this early-stage concept.\n\nTo th
 e East and West\, the energy spills into the open lots across from Dave's 
 Alley and beside Carnegie Library\, where live music and an open mic will 
 keep the night alive. Come perform\, come listen\, come soak it in.\n\nThe
 re will also be a main art gallery located at 306 S Walnut st. We will be 
 featuring Muncie Central's AP Art Class's portfolios as apart of our exhib
 ition along with many other artists.\n\nThis is art in the wild. Come expl
 ore\, engage\, and help shape the future of downtown Muncie.\n\nArt at the
  Murray\n405 S. Walnut&nbsp\;(upstairs between the Caffeinery &amp\; Atty.
  Frank Brinkman's)\nWe're excited to welcome you to our open artist studio
 s! Carrie Wright will give you a behind-the-scenes look at how she is pain
 ting her massive art installation\,&nbsp\;7 DAYS. Next door in Suite 202\,
  please join our newest artist tenant\, Brian Anderson\, for a live costum
 e drawing session\; pencils and paper are provided. Kerry Shaw in Suite 30
 6 will reveal what he's been working on this winter\; and&nbsp\;Gallery Fl
 aneur (aka Mark Sawrie) will be exhibiting photographs from several differ
 ent projects in Suite 310. Refreshments served!!&nbsp\;\n\nGallery Flaneur
 &nbsp\;(aka Mark Sawrie): New and 'old' photographs exhibiting wryly sombe
 r compositions of banal/sublime environments (many here in Muncie) will be

 ibition:&nbsp\;Art portfolios displayed by the most advanced artists at Mu
 ncie Central High School exploring themes of imagination\, individuality\,
  love\, human experience\, history\, and so much more. Various media\, sub
 ject matter\, and driving questions are explored as students determine the
  focus for their artworks. Come see the talent of Muncie's AP art students
  displayed across the walls for this exhibition!\n\nGordy Fine Art &amp\; 
 Framing Co.&nbsp\;\n224 E. Main\nOpening party from 5-8pm for Color &amp\;
  Form: Paintings by Margie Prim and Pottery by Eugene Boyd. These two well
 -loved Muncie artists will be sharing The Wall at Gordy.&nbsp\;Works will

 the Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning\, will showcase videos 
 of recent animation\, virtual reality\, and interactive projects during Mu

 st Stephen M. Millben II - Boondoxxink) is March’s featured artist in th
 e TOOLSONG Gallery. The exhibition showcases Millben’s layered visual st
 yle\, blending digital illustration\, resin\, painting\, and intricate pat
 tern-based compositions. TOOLSONG is located on the first floor of MadJax\
 , near the center of the building\, across from the elevator. The gallery 
 is free and open to the public during MadJax hours - Monday - Friday\, 7:3
 0 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday\, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.\n\nCarved from a former
  transformer shaft in our historic industrial building\, the gallery has b
 een reimagined into a light-filled space dedicated to experimentation and 
 contemporary making. Designed and constructed by students from Ball State 
 University’s College of Architecture and Planning\, TOOLSONG reflects Ma
 dJax’s commitment to adaptive reuse\, hands-on learning\, and creating n
 ew platforms for artists to share work with the community\n\nMuncie Artist
 s Guild\nVarious locations\nLong being a fan of art shows\, Jennie Irving 
 decided to learn how to paint after retiring from Massage Therapy. She has
  always been "hands-on"!&nbsp\; Gardening\, cooking\, travel\, and family 
 activities are other passions. She loves color and creating. Watercolor\, 
 acrylics\, and pastels are a few of the mediums she experiments with. Insp
 iration may be found anywhere\, and she hopes to share her joy with viewer

 in April\, the Record Parlor of Muncie is starting a new initiative to cre
 ate a Community Collage&nbsp\;Album! In addition to enjoying our gallery o
 f local art\, visitors will have the opportunity to record some music (reg
 ardless of talent). We will have a small studio space set up with micropho
 nes\, guitars\, and a couple small percussion instruments. Visitors can al
 so feel free to bring their own instrument&nbsp\;to play. Anyone who wants
  to is welcome to record something (even if it's just hand claps). All of 
 the sounds will then be mixed and mastered into a song. At the end of the 
 year\, we will have a full album of songs created by the community to shar
 e. The recording station will be set up from 6-8 so come contribute to the
  Community Collage!
