Step into Oakhurst Gardens and discover that canning isn’t nearly as frightening as it sounds—even with a few zombies lurking nearby! In this immersive, beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll master the art of making Pickled Zombie Fingers (a.k.a. pickled peppers)—a creepy, crunchy treat perfect for your apocalypse pantry. Whether you’re brand new to canning or just want to add a quirky twist to your repertoire, this hands-on experience will leave you feeling ready for anything. Plus, you’ll have the chance to snap a photo with one of our “undead” guests—if you dare!

Connect with your community while exploring portraiture through printmaking with local artist Aimee Maychack. Bring a black-and-white 4” x 6” photo of a single subject and learn to create a linocut print during this interactive experience! Enjoy light snacks and a cash bar. Guests will leave with at least one print and a new understanding of linocut carving and portraiture.

All materials needed to create your own art print will be provided. Pre-registration is encouraged. Limited walk-in seating may be available, so please call ahead.

Celebrate artistry and joy at Happy Little Fest, honoring the beloved Bob Ross, his lasting legacy, and his famous “happy little” approach to art. Spend the day surrounded by all things Bob—watch live painting demos, view original Bob Ross masterpieces, and test your knowledge with Bob Ross trivia. Hop on a shuttle to explore WIPB’s studio at Ball State University, where later seasons of “The Joy of Painting” were filmed, then refuel with refreshing drinks and delicious bites from local food trucks. Enjoy live music from local artists and take part in the Bob Ross Look-Alike Competition!

Want to paint like Bob? Purchase a $55 ticket for one of our Bob Ross Painting Workshops—kids paint at 1 p.m. and adults at 3 p.m.—and create your own “happy little” masterpiece to take home. No experience necessary—just bring your creativity and let your imagination flow! Metal and glass artist Jessica Calderwood presents a stunning collection of handcrafted domes, each capturing meaningful textile patterns from diverse communities across East Central Indiana. These intricate works not only preserve the beauty of delicate textiles but also highlight their cultural significance for future generations. What makes a place feel like home? For many immigrant families in East Central Indiana, it’s the textiles they carried, created, and passed down through generations—woven, embroidered, or stitched with stories.

Local metalsmith Jessica Calderwood has transformed those stories into striking enameled copper plates for her new exhibition, Threads of Home. During this discussion, Jessica will sit down with several of the very individuals whose histories and traditions shaped her work. Together, they’ll share the memories behind the imagery—an evening of conversation, artistry, and celebration of the cultural heritage that continues to shape our community.
